PRESS RELEASE MDW 2026

PRESS INFORMATION

PLANK’s presentation at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026 is once again characterised by a simple, museum-like architecture, placing the evolution of the collection at its centre and establishing a dialogue between new designs and iconic products.

The main novelty is the folding chair THEO, designed by Matteo Thun and Benedetto Fasciana

THEO folding chair is designed to meet the needs of the contract world. A project that combines timeless design and functionality, conceived to appear and disappear naturally, adapting intelligently to contemporary spaces. In THEO, the foldable function is seamlessly integrated, without compromising the balance of proportions or the aesthetic quality of the design.

Alongside, the VELIT outdoor collection by Björn Dahlström is showcased, continuing to be one of PLANK’s bestsellers due to its lightness, versatility, and timeless functional design.

The lounge chairs SOL and SOMBRA, designed by Konstantin Grcic, remain integral elements of the collection, offering two complementary interpretations of lounge seating, balancing dynamism and comfort.

In addition, the TO side table and BLOCCO stool by Naoto Fukasawa are integral parts of the exhibition, combining simplicity and functionality while enhancing the overall presentation.

The RANDEVU table, designed by Biagio Cisotti and Sandra Laube and intended for both outdoor and indoor use, is also part of the presentation — a functional, elegant table, ideal for contract, hospitality, and residential use.

The Salone del Mobile.Milano once again represents an opportunity for PLANK to present the evolution of its collection while creating a space for interaction between design, architecture, and use.

When functionality meets timeless design

THEO is a folding chair designed to meet the needs of the contract sector. A project that combines timeless design and functionality, conceived to appear and disappear naturally, adapting intelligently to contemporary spaces.

The chair is made of oak and embodies a production approach that places material quality at its core, along with a unique sensitivity toward the environment and the natural beauty that surrounds us.

Wood, the absolute protagonist, brings warmth, solidity, and elegance, making THEO suitable not only for professional settings but also for residential spaces where furniture is not merely an accessory, but an integral part of the environment. The various available finishes broaden interpretative possibilities, allowing the chair to interact with different styles and atmospheres.

To enhance comfort, the chair is complemented by an upholstered seat element, available in Moessmer wool, textile, or leather. The meeting between wood craftsmanship and the expertise of the “loden” tradition gives rise to a shared vision based on quality, technological innovation, and attention to detail.

In THEO, the foldable function is seamlessly integrated, without compromising the balance of proportions or the aesthetic quality of the design. The result is a seat that retains the presence and comfort of a permanent piece of furniture, while offering maximum flexibility of use.

Primarily designed for the contract sector, THEO is ideal for hospitality spaces, restaurants, and multifunctional environments, while also finding a natural place in contemporary residential settings.
