Plank regularly collaborates with leading architects on important international projects. This year, in response to feedback from these clients, the company has introduced larger versions of the MIURA table series designed by Konstantin Grcic. The new surface sizes extend the practical applications of the three-legged table, which is suitable for use in domestic or commercial environments and is the ideal companion for Grcic’s iconic MIURA stool or MYTO chair.
“Plank works with clients on a project basis and on several occasions architects asked for the MIURA table in larger sizes,” said CEO, Michael Plank. “This was the key motivation for the development, however, it is very important for Plank that any additions to our product ranges retain the authenticity of the original design. We worked closely with Konstantin Grcic to implement larger surfaces that don’t compromise the table’s aesthetic and structural integrity.”
For the medium height tables, new tops with diameters of 80 and 90 centimetres have been introduced. The tops can be flipped to make the tables easier to store, and the base of the larger table top size has been weighted to improve its stability.
A larger base has been specially developed to support fixed table tops of 100 and 110 centimetre diameters. The MIURA high table range has also been expanded to include a new 80 centimetre diameter top.
All the table tops are produced from full-colour HPL and are available in black or white.
