Out of all the different projects they have done, the Studio Cisotti Laube is probably most known for their smallest item: the Diabolix, a bottle opener designed in for the Italian design company Alessi.
For Plank the studio has been playing a fundamental role as designers as well as in the art direction. Collaborating since 1997 many significant products were created together. The first product, which disconnected Plank’s era of only solid wood chairs was the MILLEFOGLIE chair. Seat and back in molded plywood connected through an innovative joint technology. It entered in the permanent design collection at the Museum for Applied Art, Frankfurt, and was selected for the ADI Design Index in the year 2000; then followed the BÀBÀ chair, also in molded plywood and with the same concept of using one unique mold for back and seat. Another milestone, not only for Plank, but for the industry, was the LUNA series from 2003 with a three-dimensional molded wooden shell. Whereas their latest piece for Plank is the MISTER X table presented in 2012.
Solid and long-lasting collaborations are important to Plank. They are the key receipt for a successful Plank product.
